The middle section of the roof was formed by stacking roof pieces base-to-base. I used whatever roof pieces I had handy, mixing slate and terracotta. They are shown here sitting standing up on one end for ease of photographing; in the actual build they were stacked such that the downward peaks set into the valley formed by other roof pieces.
